Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos [Movie]

So I watched another anime movie.
This one was the Fullmetal Alchemist movie: The Sacred Star of Milos

I shouldn't have to tell you what Fullmetal Alchemist is about. If you don't already know, look up the summery on Anime News Network (link on the right sidebar), then write "I am not an otaku, I am uncultured swine" on your school's blackboard 100 times. Then proceed to go watch the show on Netflix or Best Animes (link also on the right sidebar).
The movie takes place somewhere in the middle of the brother's journey, meaning everyone is still alive and well.
I really really enjoyed this movie, it had a lot of the good old Fullmetal Alchemist feel to it, with chimeras, Al losing his head, Ed being called short, breaking his automail, and Winry coming to fix it for him in the middle of a big intense battle.
The one thing that did bother me, though, was the animation was definitely different from the usual FMA you see. The animation was simple, and had a more.... plastic(?) feel to it. I don't know how to describe it. First noticable difference was Ed's hair. Which still bothers me.

Ed's hair in Star of Milos
Ed's hair in FMA:Brotherhood
And then Julia (Second Lead, counting the Elric Brothers together as first lead. Yes, they come as a package), looks like she just popped right out of a Ghibli film.

Anyways. It was really good, I'd give it two big thumbs up. It's on Netflix if you want it dubbed, and of course it's on Best Animes if you want it subbed.

Steins;Gate: Fuka Ryoiki no Deja Vu [Movie]

Been on a movie ROLL, man!
This one is the fairly recent Steins;Gate movie!

Steins;Gate: Fuka Ryoiki no Deja Vu (Steins;Gate: Burdened Domain of Deja Vu)

The plot takes place almost right after the Steins;Gate show, when Kurisu returns from America for a conference. Okabe starts acting weird, and he keeps getting weird flashes. I won't say all of what happens, but basically, things go from bad....

To worse.

It was AWESOME, as expected. They included all the old characters from the show, and brought back the old classic jokes. Kurisu even does a sequence where she pretty much says every Steins;Gate joke, dressed as Okabe. "I am... HOUOUIN KYOUMA. THE MADDEST OF SCIENTISTS. Mayuri! Bring me the chosen drink for the intellectuals! Ruka! Why are you not practicing your sword technique?! Supah Hackah, turn on future gadget number 0012!" and etc.

Anyways, I really enjoyed it. It was a bit confusing at times, but that's Steins;Gate for you. It's on Best Animes if you wanna click that link over on the right side bar.

Also, this person deserves a reward:

Les Miserables: Shoujo Cosette [Show?!]

So, like the world couldn't get any worse.
They made a Les Miserable anime.
And called it shoujo Cosette.
Wat.

So I'm scrolling down best-animes.tv, and I see...

And of course I'm all "wat" so I click on it, and I watch the first few episodes. The following pictures pretty much describe what I thought of it:

But despite those things, there were just a few things that weren't very good, quality-wise.

ValJean didn't have a mouth, his mustache just wiggled whenever he talked. When he would say something that I go "WHAT" at, I would have to go back and check to see if he was thinking or speaking by seeing if his mustache wiggled.
Cosette's hair isn't blonde, it's yellow. And not just yellow, it's YELLOW.
Is that a mustache or nose hair. I know he's supposed to be ugly, but that's just MEAN.
I'm not going to go into all the details as to why I didn't like it, but there were a lot of things inaccurate to the plot, and the quality of it was almost laughable. Dramatic music played at all the wrong times, and it was way too.... empty, with hardly any attention to detail.
If you wanna watch it, it's on Best Animes (link is on the right bar), and is under "recently added" on the homepage.

And I leave you with this picture that made me laugh.

Eden of the East [Movie I & II]

So I just finished watching the first and second Eden of the East Movies.

Eden of the East: The King of Eden [Movie I]
Eden of the East: Paradise Lost [Movie II]

For those who don't know, Eden of the East is an awesome show, about a girl named Saki, who meets a strange young man outside the white house. With not a stitch of clothing, and carrying only a cellphone in one hand, and a gun in the other, he quickly explains that he's suffering from amnesia, and she offers to help. With some investigation, they find out that the cell phone has 8,200,000,000 yen on it, and a mysterious woman who grants his every request. The only condition she asks in return that he pay a certain fee per request, and that he use the mysterious cellphone to change Japan for the better.
The movies continue the story afterwards, when he requests to be king, saves Japan, then wipes his memory and disappears. Saki goes on a hunt for him in America, intent on bringing him back to Japan. Movie I goes first, then Movie II second. Don't be a rebel and watch them the other way around thinking they're not linked. Movie I ends, then Movie II continues the story.

Also, as I was watching, I noticed something............

Coincidence? I THINK  NOT.

But really, the animation for Eden of the East resembles Studio Ghibli a lot.
Lot of hair-lifting, and the way things move is very similar. If Studio Ghibli was re-vamped and got more detail and shininess, it would basically be the same.

The music is awesome, and I'm gunna go hunt down somewhere I can download it.

Love Sky: Sad Love Story [MOVIE?!]

OH AND GUESS WHAT.

THERE'S A MOVIE. Haven't seen it yet, and I'm still weighing whether I should watch it or not. I might, just for the kicks. Except Hiro's hair bothers me.

He's supposed to be a blonde, not....

Also, I saw this:

NO. NO THEY SHOULD NOT.
HEART RIPPING IS BAD.
I LIKE MY HEART WHERE IT IS, THANK YOU.

If you need me, I'll be in the corner watching High School Musical, bye.

Love Sky: Sad Love Story [Manga]

So I finally finished this manga.
And it was so depressing.

It's called "Love Sky: Sad Love Story"

I think I either missed the "Sad Love Story" part, or I saw it and thought "well all love stories are kinda sad, but they turn out alright."
No, this was so, so depressing.

However, I finished it. To the bitter end.
And I cried like a baby.

I think the worst part about how depressing it was, was that it was based on a true story.
It's like Marley & Me. But worse.
I don't think I've been more grateful about my life, than I was when I was reading this manga.

I'm just wondering what the writer was thinking. "Oi, this girl lived this terrible, sad, life, where people close to her died and shunned her and people treated her terribly. Let's turn it into a shoujo manga."

I need like a Disney movie or something now.
Hooray for High School Musical.

Code Geass: Akito the Exiled [OVA]

So Code Geass has a new OVA now.

Whoa.

It's only two episodes in, but I have to say it's really good so far.
However, this website seemed to beg to differ.

They say  "When it comes down to it, seems like a ridiculous continuation overall, even the first two chapters felt more promising in what they previewed, but it’s all just the familiar Geass formula in the end." like it's a bad thing. Isn't the familiar Geass formula /good/? That's the reason they made the OVA, right?

And also, yes this is Lelouch.
Everyone is saying it isn't, but it is.
1) He's traveling with Suzaku
2) Supposedly, this takes place between R1 and R2, so he's still alive.
3) Dat hair.
4) Lelouch's voice actor volunteered to play this part. Coincidence? I THINK NOT.
5) He is as flamboyant as ever.

He his, however, going under a weird name. Julius Kingsley.
Stop it Lelouch, your name is Lulu, regardless of what you say.
What's up with his eyepatch, though. Maybe because this was after he got his permanent Geass in his left eye? Everything is just theories at this point.

However, my friends and I took the liberty and created some names for the new and improved Lelouch.
1) Lelouch 2.0 (from the above provided link)
2) Lelouch Append
3) Lelouch mk2
4) Lelouch 2gen
5) Lelouch 2000

Well, regardless, I really like Akito the Exiled. Brings back some fond memories of the old show, and I rather like the "familiar Geass formula". So there.
